Virus in Installer

by Jerry on 02/05/2006 19:31, 46 messages, last message: 02/15/2007 03:48, 15711 views, last view: 05/05/2024 11:36

Hi,

My antivirus program (antivir) reports a Trojan (\"TR/Spy.Bombka\") in the installer - to be exact it is in uninstall.exe

Is this really a trojan or is it an error with the antivirus software?

And I swear it was a Bluescreen and not a Chicken. :P

Antivirus are sometimes just stupid. And sometimes there are even the security problem!.

One time a Antivirus detected a Virus in a exe I just compiled from MY OWN SOURCE. :/

btw: It was antivir...

using the following scientifically acurate formula, which takes the average amounts of insults generated by users of any particular OS as deviating from useful contributions, resulting in an (inversely proportional) IQ score.

We get the following ranking of OSes that make you dumb:

1. GNU/Linux (president bush level)
2. Linux (chickens)
3. MacOS X (monkeys)
4. Windows (fox news watchers)
5. 1 guy posting from Palm OS (einstein level)

Aard: Linux is not an operating system - it is a kernel...
What about FreeBSD and Solaris people?:)

a kernel with an OS linked into it.

I don't care what you call it... I am just differentiating different classes of users depending on how they refer to Linux.

There's no such thing as a kernel with an OS linked into it.

Most Linux kernel based systems are running with GNU tools, so it is GNU/Linux ;)

Aard was just counting how these people were referring to their OS.

yes i am the real praxibetel, i have been impersonated quite a few times though :-/

Aard: Yea. sure call all linux users stupid, but dont be suprised now if you get insulted by them back. Sure there are free software fanatics, but they have to take as much as they give :-/

Guys, how stupid do you think we are? We all see the Underscore in the fake-Aardappel_ and hampus_ name. And I don't believe the real Praxibetel uses french E in his name.

This forum will get an overhaul as I heard – we need profile pages to stop this fraud.

I don't think profile pages may happen on a forum like this and even then,It won't stop the overhaul so don't count on it :/

why don't you do a search for both "Aardappel_" and "Aardappel" and see which looks more like the real deal.

I lost my first account with an unreachable email address... I thought about restoring it, but I have been posting as Aardappel_ for so long it doesn't matter anymore.

Yes, true. I should have done like aard suggested in the first place. I guess I'm a bit too paranoid when it comes down to trusting internet user profiles.

Sorry for that, aard.
