Server help

How do i enter other ppls servers?
no one ansered my qeustion b4 so PLZ respond!

First thing - even though nobody responded - multiple posting is just going to make people less keen to help.

Secondly - it helps to include a bit of information - e.g are you seeing any error or other information which may help to sort it out?

I am assuming that you can see servers, but they either say "different protocol" - in which case you need to download the new version of Cube,
or
if you can see servers and click to join them but nothing happens -
either the server is full ( you can see that info on the new server list anyway)
or its passworded - in which case you will see a message on your screen at the top to tell you that.
I am guessing that your problem is the wrong version of cube though.

Is a server i see on the server lit i dunno wtf your talking about I cant add my server because ping is not responding... wth???
I just downloaded this game today! I have mastered some of it though...

You need to make sure the ports are open, and incase your behind a NAT(which isn't uncommon with routers by default) make sure the ports are forwarded to you.
The port numbers are somewhere in the docs...

also I read the thigy about autoexec,
what is it? I have to find what it is...
It says its a CFG File 1 KB

1 Try reading the docs which came with the game to familiarize yourself with the various options etc.

2 The autoconfig is indeed a cfg file. That is nothing more than a text file. I would assume you run Windows? If so - try opening the file with notepad. Its just simple text. Nothing special.

3 Although you downloaded the game today, you may have grabbed the wrong version. You want the version which starts with 2005_08 something. All older versions do not now see the masterserver , so you cannot see the available games.

4 Do you run any sort of protection for your system? You say no router, thats fine, but do you have a firewall or other means of preventing people getting into your system? If so, you need to make sure traffic to and from the game can get to you. The ports you need to open are well documented - 2 of them,both UDP - 28765 and 28766

ah - I now see where you are getting the apache/tomcat stuff from! Thats on the masterserver from the main cube website.
That is not active currently.
To get into a server, simply start the game, then choose multiplayer, then click on update server list there. Once you can see some games, select one and click it. You will then join - unless it it full ( indicated by the word full ) or passworded - in which case you will get the information at the top of your screen.
