Character Models

Hey, I just discovered Cube and I think it's an amazing engine. I was just curious as to what modelling software the maker used for the characters. I know i should look in the source and i'm sorry, but i have a 56k right now and no time to dl it all at this moment.
So basically i'm merely curios as to the modelling techniques supported by this engine. If it's explained in full somewhere else, please just ignore me. Thanks for your guys' time.

Look up Quake 2 modeling - Cube uses the same models as Quake 2, but limits the system to 1 skin per model and uses a jpeg instead of a color-limited bitmap.

Oh, so there's no normal mapping/parallax mapping supported? Hmm... source code here i come! I've been working on making quake2 models support a normal map + a skin... I like the way the creator implemented the lighting system though! I love the minimalistic style! Truly a work of art ;)

You can use any app that can export md2 and/or md3.

Sauer can use md3, use md3 unless it´s a simple mapmodel!

md2 with normalmaps is like putting a ferrari engine into a 2cv...

Why not use md3 for that? md2 is crap.

they are equally crap for any advanced features... only thing that md3 has is better vertex resolution.
