look in autoexec.cfg

use [] for the command argument:

/bind A [ weapon 1 ]

if you want the shotgun on the 'A' key

This is hard for beginers if you want the key to reset to default if its released

P.S.I can send you the zoom in/out autoexec if you want to(no viruses im not a drugged virus sender or any of that + i have a virus killer program)

The space key is the zooming so if you want the autoexec tell me il send it to you by email ;)

space key? nah, rightclick makes way more sense. here's the zoom code i use:

fov 105
alias myfov 105
bind MOUSE2 [
fov 30;
onrelease [ fov $myfov ]
]

it's very concise and effective, just hold down rightclick until you want to return. just find
fov (whatever)
in the autoexec.cfg file and replace it with that block of code.

But if you want to shoot and to jump(used in multiplayer)at the same time i suggest you use space for zooming its much safer trust me unless of course you want it the hard way of controling well go on do whatever you want to do with binding tough.

TIP:You can also bind keys to make automessage like bind ? creates say:Team get the flag message

NOTE:You cant make secret/private/team messages so i highly suggest you dont(or maybe i dont use it)

you use the arrow keys don't you? ha ha ha.

it's pretty universal that WASD is the best configuration jean. join the masses, we're here for a reason. i take it you don't play games like UT? (the games where i learned the NESCESSITY of WASD, way back in the day)

one, your zoom script would be more cleanly coded like this (note removed duplcation of constant, also indentation):

alias myfov 105
fov $myfov
bind MOUSE2 [
fov 30;
onrelease [ fov $myfov ]
]

two, WASD is the standard but it is not the best :) ESDF is superior because it puts more extra hotkeys at your fingertips (specifically an extra column of 3 keys for your pinky).

The trend goes to TFGH I heard :P
8456 on numpad is good as well. (gives you 3 keys accesible by thumb, and the option to very comfortably using the left arrow key with the small finger without bending it. Only downside is you´ll be shoving the keyboard around on the desk some.

I play WASD though, because cube´s simple. In other games where you need more keys I play on the numpad.

I used to play MechWarrior 2 (pre-mouselook) with two hands on the keyboard. One on ESDF (movement), one on 8456 (view). Those were the days :)

what indentation? the only indentation i'm aware of is something the forum may have somehow added. as for the constant... if you notice a difference between the two codes i'm surprised you're playing cube, the difference is infintessimal if it does exist :)

i guess my statement about WASD was out of line, but in my defense, i have found it to be easier to use than ESDF when you rely heavily on the tilde key, and i CAN'T use the TFGH configuration because half the time i'm using one of the ergonomic keyboards (you know, the ones which split everything down 6TGB vs 7YHN)
