LLGP, or the Linux Live Game Project at http://tuxgamers.altervista.org/ has removed Cube from their game list. Why? Because it has no debian package. Someone please make a debian package for Cube. This would get it back into the LLGP and would make it easier for Debian users to install cube.

I have talked to the debian people in the past, and they were completely uncooperative and unreasonable about distributing cube w.r.t. binaries and the cheating issue. They prefer being religious fanatics about open source to supporting cool projects like Cube, so I guess they have to make do without it.

being distributed by the debian maintainers and simply having a .deb package have nothing to do with each other. build the package, put it in the files section. ta-da, a debian package! this is how EVERY not-debian-friendly software distributes debs. someone has to keep it updated, with proper dependencies (library versions, etc), but thats a two-hour-a-month job.

I know very few about packaging, in fact i always release plain .tar.gz packages.
I won't have time to learn full use of dpkg like building .deb packages from source, but if someone has a link to quick-making of Debian packages (in fact using theme merely as an archive with just some dependencies added) i'm ok for it.
