New 2005 RELEASE of Cube?

Hey, I was just wondering whether there is a new version of Cube in development and when it will be released.
It's especially important for leagues like the ESL which loses players and activity all along.
I've collected some bugs which SHOULD BE FIXED:
- 999 FPS: speedbug
- 999 FPS: screen stays red for years after being killed
- no player animations during demo playback
- musicvol doesn't work (linux)
- redirecting/piping of console output doesn't work in realtime, needed for statsscripts or IRC matchbots. Logfile would also be OK.
- crashes with certain graphics cards
- scoreboard stays opened during demo playback
- adjustable server port

Features which shouldn't take to much time to implement:
- connect via console (cube -c serverip -p pass)
- spectator?
- different handling of teams (team red/blue, not 100 teams at once)

Common guys, the last release was 1 year ago.

Ahh, I've forgotten one important thing:
higher delay for hud name drawing because many people are using triggerbots based on this.

Wait - you mean that people are bothering with Bots for Cube? FFS, you could probably just hack it to cause instant pain to all the players with a packet sniffer and some cleverness. Who the hell would cheat at a game like this, when they can go cheat in a game with player rankings and suchlike?

Still, a higher delay for name drawing would be nice anyways, because the curretn name system is unusuable - by the time I've glanced down to see the name, its already gone.

Actually, I've always liked Cube's N-team method (not simple red/blue). The only problem I see is that there's no menu for it. It would be much nicer that, if you join a game where your teamname is unique, that you be prompted to either join a team or found your own.

it just doesn´t work.. noone cares,(or gets it) everytime it says "teamplay", everyone plays for themselves.. I only had exactly 1 match where it worked..

One should force Red or Blue, otherwise it won´t make sense on pubs..
The original way could be kept (though not accessible via menus maybe) for those who really want to go for it (probably not on a pub).

Sometimes teamplay worked, eventually i had to chat to point it out to other players so they choose teams, but i think the N-teams system is good, because it offers much more possibilities, and very few games have it.

This system allows much more balancing, i can choose to join the team that needs more firepower, and the very skilled players can choose to fight solo against teams.

There could be additionnal "2 teams" gamemodes, but i think the N-teams is something worth keeping.

Or maybe the clients should by default choose a team on round start or connect so that teams get created even if the players don't explicitly /team

Yeah, there are some features that should be added into cube, in addition to adding the 2 teams mode, a fist only insta would be interesting (inspired from CL Sword Master).

The hud character name text needs to also be bigger, or bolder, as well as the delay added...

Aard, are there any plans for a new 2005 Cube release?

Instafist is in Cube, its just undocumented. It was nothing new in CL.

Maybe She's talking about InstaFist that begins with 1 health instead of 100 so you dont have to hit the guys 3 times.

read the source, all i did was mention that it was there. it's eihrul's instafist mode, not mine at all.
*feels guilty for metioning it in readme*

oh, and i sompletely agree with the bigger name thing, it'd be handy (particulary for bots *hint hint rick* )

well, the developers are still actively fixing bugs brought to their attention, so I think it is safe to assume that another version is coming some day. when, and what will be in it, is anyone's guess (and Aard's decision :) ).
