Cube PDA (XScale / OpenGL ES) release!

by Aardappel_ on 02/09/2005 00:54, 234 messages, last message: 06/17/2008 06:12, 245308 views, last view: 12/09/2021 06:25

The port of Cube created by Intel for their latest mobile cpu & 3d chipset has been uploaded to sourceforge. You can get it in the files section as usual here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=91993

Some (older) screenshots are here:

http://cubeengine.com/cube_intel_pda/

And the hardware you need to run this is available for example here:

http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/axim_x50v?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

What happens when you see a model? Unless you want to implement an alternate option with using animated billboards in the place of an Ogro, like they did in the old days.

#52: Cube and Pocket PC Emulator

by workman on 06/15/2005 15:40

I am trying to get Cube to work on the Pocket PC emulator from Microsoft, but it doesn't seem to be working. The emulator tells me it's not a valid Pocket PC application - any ideas on how I can get it working?

#55: x50v Performance

by Cleaner57 on 07/21/2005 21:30

Hello,

is it normal that the FPS often lies at 10 with low details? Is it possible to turn off ligths and shadows? The option in the tweak menu doesn't seem to change!

Whats the performance on other X50v's?

It doesn't work on the Ipaq Hx4700 currently because Cube is an exclusive program only for Axim X50v users ;)!
Being that the Axim X50v has an accelerated 3d gfx chip capable of being the only device that can do Open GL|es, Cube may stay an exclusive to it until Windows Mobile 5.0 w/Direct 3d is more highly distributed.

The pda version is based on the 2004 release.

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=91993&package_id=97123&release_id=240258

first two packages (or 3 if you want the source too)
