*** I don\\\'t speak english very well... **

I have a Radeon 9550, Catalyst 4.11 and Cube_2004_05_22 but when I play, all is black. I see nothing... When I shoot I see some smoke but only smoke...

Why ?

(I try with different maps, but it\\\'s the same thing)

don't know about the 9550, but the omega drivers work fine with my 9800.

I've had this problem for a long time, I believe that it stoped work with some version of the Catalyst 4.10 and still the game will not function with the latest build of 4.12 installed. Any other suggestions would be appreciated as this is too good of an engine not to be able to use!

Get an nVidia card? Really, there's not too many solutions... use the old crappy driver on the cd that shipped with the card and dont play the more recent games because they wont work? Turn 3d acceleration off and play with lights and 0.9 fps...?

Or you might want to try the omega driver, its better than the stock ATi driver, and actualy fixes the problem in cube.

*hugs his geforce*

afaik, in Windows, you can replace the openGL driver by dumping the .dll file in the same folder as the target app - most apps search locally first for dynamic loading. This means that you can give different apps a different openGL driver, which is what you want for this problem, innit?

Hrm, wouldnt that the BIG security hole in Win9x? I thought they fixed that in the NT kernel...

well, that Omega drivers didn't do any good so I'm stuck I guess. Dunno if it's an opengl problem but maybe i'll try tossing in an older dll later. Works on my Mac atm, albeit my Mac's a bit slow it still rox!
Also, I wouldn't even use nVidia GeForce card if I got it for free. Sorry to any nVida fans around here. :)
Also on this note, a friend of mine has a Radeon 9800 Pro, it doesn't work on his system atm either, but his stoped working with the same drivers it had previously worked on. Reading somehting here I updated them awhile ago for him but that didn't help either. Cubw does however run on my bro's Radeon 9000SE fine with the latest drivers. I've only got a Radeon 7000 in here btw, same for my Mac. Anywho, I'm starting to think this problem has something to do with the release of Cube itself, gonna try compiling it myself and see if it makes any difference, tho that won't work on the official servers....

Thanks for the feedback so far. :)

Before you give up try the 5.1 drivers. Make sure you have the .net framework as this is needed for AI (speeds up games).
