Maybe this has been discussed, though a search didn't come up with much and I have yet to read the 3000+ posts in the general thread (just finished the mapping thread after 3 days).
I've been playing with Cube for only a couple of months, and so far have only a few handy edits to autoexec.cfg:

I can see how to bind keys, but how can I bind something like LSHIFT to toggle/modify strafing when I press the left/right keys? (yes, I know... I am a keyboard player)

oh, sorry, cube isnīt really laid out for keyboard players, thereīs no such thing as a "strafe-modifier" and thus no turning keys aswell...
it was made for keyboard/mouse combo.
I strongly reccomend you get used to mouse aiming, thereīs nothing better for playing fps games. Just get used to it, you wonīt want to miss it. Trust me , I once was a keyboard player myself.. mouse aim is just much more natural.
And though many modern games still have that option, itīs doomed to extinct in some years...

What if Your handicapped and You need the arrow keys to turn.
The newest and biggest games like DOOM3 and Half-Life 2 have the ability to bind the arrow keys.

Cube is Cube Sauer is Sauer and they never get to be as good as the other games(but luckily they're better then orriginal Doom tough)

ok, JP, i think you just topped yourself on the Dumb Comments Hall of Fame.
OCC- you can use arrow keys already, or have you not bothered trying? all the keys are rebindable, if you would bother to do some reading. i don't think there's a handicap in existance that makes it so you can't use WASD or similar. just inexpirience.

AFAIK, there are no "turn left" or "turn right" commands. If they existed, we could do something like:
bind lshift [ bind left strafeleft; bind right straferight ; onrelease [bind left turnleft; bind right turnright] ]
Or something like that. (maybe some aliases would be needed, maybe not)

Why not learn to read. Do You know what turning means, it is not side to side You dumb SOB. This is a help forum, HUM, with answers like this, I wonder.
As far as future games not having the ability to bind turns. Well like I said before DOOM 3 and Half-Life 2 both have that feature and Quake 4 will have it to. Now, You can\\\'t tell Me these games are old and out dated, and Quake4 is not out yet.
So, if anyone could help Me out, I thank You.
OCC is a clan that is only 7 months old but most of the 31 members are ex IROQ members that have been playing games for at least 10 years and makeing maps for at least 5 years, Myself, I have made over 220 maps. How many have You made Tentus. So if experience is a question, do We have it. LOL

it was a reading error: i assumed you were asking a question that is common enough, which is how to change WASD to ESDF or RDFG, etc. Every day we get someone asking if they can do something which to me seems dead obvious, because i'm used to making changes in cfg files, but they aren't.

220 sound like an exageration to me, but ok, i'm fine with extravagant numbers. If you would "learn to read" you might come across the fact that i've been Modding cube since August, which may imply that i know how to map too.
i'm still waiting for a handicap that lets you play PC games but won't let you use the mouse.
anyway, as morgaine pointed out, config tips. for fledgling mappers,

gives a hexadecimal table which can be easily used for finding a fitting fogcolour. just remember to put the 0x in front of the number when you type /fogcolour in your map cfg.

how have you managed not to notice that almost everyone in the forum is laughing at you most of the time? Aard said it himself, he keeps you around because your remarks are so hilariously wrong.
the reason you'ld want the hexadecimal chart, as i said in my comment, is to find the hex code for fog color. so when you type
/fogcolour 0xCC3300
you get a good red fog. this means you don't have to sit around in cube for hours trying to find a shade that you want.
@ Morgaine: it's not available in cube or Sauer to the best of my knowledge, it may be something worth including in the next release. yet another UI feature :)
