Hey guy's this require's registering but this forum is more powerfull to update cube's forum this may or not may be good but feature's avatar's uploading file's and so-on good for uploading level's(in a .ZIP is nicer)and screenshot's anyway here it is www.forumer.com i suggest you will like it ;)


P.S:Just a hint don't be so wrong but might be usefull.

Avatars and smileys are silly gold plating, but for those of us who move around a lot the more conventional user+password approach might be nicer... at least as an option.

Plus, it might be nice to be able to upload maps. Not necessarily packagages, but just maps. Problem is, who do you want to do it? Want to take Aard out of the important stuff? Some sort of 3rd party bb like phpbb would work, but they tend to be overfeatured and something tells me that Aard wouldn't like something heavyweight like that.

this is the nicest forum I have ever seen, thanks sleepy. Especially the way it just shows you the new posts in a thread, most forums don't even have this functionality.

Hmm, I like this forum, but it may be nice to have a phpbb setup too. most of the forums that I am registered to use phpbb and they are very simple and functional. And contain all the extra features too such as post count, avatars, signatures, simple login, and so on.

One thing that I really don't like about this forum is it's cookie based. You cannot "log in" unless you have a cookie, and if your cookie is deleted, as mine becomes quite often, you have to go thru the pain of recreateing it. which is alot slower than simply logging in...

yeah. This forum does lack simles and other shiny eyecandy. But it doesnt need it. Most of that stuff is used just for spam anyway.

Stylistically I think the forum software is fine; it lets you follow threads pretty easily, it\'s clean and undistracting(though I wish it could \"spread out\" the width on higher resolutions). My only real issue would be with features; subforums, polls, user infos, and private messages are all pretty handy things to have. Attachments like what the original poster wanted are slightly wasteful IMO, usually you can get hosting for small files anyway.

I like this forum too. Clean, fast, and comfortable... no bells and whistles.

IMO The only thing it lacks is the login/password, or e-mail/password. The cookie system is fine for home and work PC but a bit annoying when often changing/travelling.

About hosting files, finding a host is trivial (ok, finding a *good* free host is much harder, but for small files this doesn't matter a lot... for big files, yes, but neither forum uploading of big files is a good option)... And there are many alternatives.

Well I've had posts without offensive content erased in other forums just because they're not on the topic and unless this happens here I'll hang around. Not to mention these are the colors I like most in a web page, particularly orange links, bright text and a dark background. I've visited this site with IE, Mozilla and Opera and it works for all of them. There's no need to change the login system unless user accounts are hacked or something else bad happens.

Apache for Windows is quite good, so if you have an always-on desktop PC just do what I did with the cube installer - host it yourself and use homedns.org to redirect traffic.

The colors are no problem with phpbb, just check this out:

And of course, you can just use normal simple graphics and not just eye candy style

One thing I miss is the qoute system, it's very handy.

Pretty sure you can't. For phpbb, you need three things available to you on the server.

1) php
2) an SQL server
3) webspace.

to my knowledge, only 3) exists on that.

Lavaball, with regards to the insultive words, the majority of cube forum users, it seems to me, are far too mature and sophisticated to flame and use inapropriate language.

Is insultive a word? I ask this out of curiosity, i'm not trying to be insult<ive/ing>.
I think you mean insulting.

The colours are great, and ard can make us use his colours, not choose our own, which is nice. The cookie login is nice, but i can see it being annoying. I hate phpBB type boards cus i ALWAYS forget my passwords :-)

PHP nuke/bb quoting is nice, but we can all type things like -LavaBall Said: "insultive words"-

I am against the banning of insulting words. If someone is being aan asshole than we should ban them. Sometimes insulting word are just a lazy way of adding emphasis (note my use of the word assholl)
