Compiling questions

by niko on 09/09/2004 18:20, 10 messages, last message: 12/15/2006 14:47, 2011 views, last view: 04/15/2024 14:41

When i compile the source code i have 2 errors :
error C2300: \'dynent\' : class does not have a destructor called \'~T\'

fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: \'GL/glext.h\': No such file or directory

the both come from the file tools.h

im sure its not very dificult to resolve those errors but im not very good in c++.

#1: Using vintage Visual C++ 5/6?

by D.plomat on 09/10/2004 09:09

Had this too.

Made a VC++5 project file long time ago, and instructions to modify the source, but it was for a 2002 version of Cube. Tried unsuccessfully with the 2003 version, it managed to compile, but was very buggy(as VC++5 was)

Either buy VC++7, or use MinGW free compiler.

by aaru_ali on 09/11/2004 14:27

hi..
i read the cube reviews & recently download the following packages from sourceforge.net:
cube_2004_05_22.tar.gz
cube_2004_06_06_linux_client_ATI_workaround.zip
Now, after successful downloading & unpacking the tar.gz file I don't know what do do next? how to compile it to get ready for the game? & also what is the role of second file (.zip one)?

pls help me with it..

thankx.

Just run cube.bat if you use Windows, or cube_unix if Linux.

The second .zip is a patch version. You'll need this only if you're using a Radeon in Linux and have a problem of rockets exploding in your face.

cube_2004_06_06_linux_client_ATI_workaround.zip

It should only be needed if using ATI's proprietary driver. It shouldn't happen to you using the open source radeon driver and DRI (provided with a modern implementation of X). At least I haven't seen it happen on three different models of radeon, anyway. Only when using the ATI fglrx driver. Kind of funny at first, every time you shoot a weapon, you hit yourself :-)

cd enet
cat README
(... do that stuff ...)
cd ../src
make clean
make
make install

you are aware that self-compiled clients will not be able to play on the official network? good! :)
