I'm working on a new castle type map for Cube and I absolutely love the new map models, and the ability to add them via the menu too. They add so much atmosphere!
Whomever made them, can you make more plantlife models, and possibly some medieval type items, like wall torches, torches on a pole, wooden barrels, carts, etc.?

Possible future feature? Would be nice, and should be pretty simple. Either way, you'd need more than animation for good torches though. Billboards would help. Alpha transparencies, luminoscity mapping, and other texture features would help more. Point lightsources bound to mapmodels would also help further, but wouldn't be necessary. Animated lighting would make it excellent (the gentle flicker of an exposed flame).

Yeah! That looks fantastic!
You're the one that did those other models right?
The new forest and tropical vegitation is just outstanding. Wait till you see the level I'm building with them. :)

I'm using just the right amount to look good without too much (so far).
I'll tweak it as I go though, maybe get some people to play test it too.

I sent you a private mail, but the question I asked may be of general interest.
What set of tools do you use to create these md2 models?
Thanks.

How much do map models slow cube down? Is it only noticable on slower computers?

It's only noticable when you have 15+ higher poly or around 25+ smaller mapmodels in one view.
