ok so l want to have a lan game but when i run the server. bat file its says
looking up wouter.fov120.com...
sending request to wouter.fov120.com.....
masterserver reply:
server not registered: you did not respond to ping
what does that mean exactly?

This means that it tried to register you on the master server, but since you're on the LAN (and probably behind the NAT and/or firewall), it couldn't ping you, and told you about that.
How to disable that? RTFM somewhere around the -m switch.

This does not seem to be the only problem. I sometimes open a server for a game on noxa.de and this server is not behind a firewall. Sometimes the master server is able to ping back and sometimes it is not, although i report the correct IP using the -i switch.
It happens quite randomly, I guess.

maybe its the UDP packet getting lost. I think the masterserver tries at least 3 times now... if it is still happening report to sleepy@fov120.com

ok so i got the two machines on lan to connect to each others ip address.
but i cant get a game to start with the two machines in it together.
what do i do?

ehm what exactly do you mean ?
simply run server.bat on one of the machines, open cube on both, connect to the ip of the computer runnng the server...
