This is my first, and probably last SP map for Cube. I'm too ADD to work on something like this i had to force myself to finish it.

It came out well, pretty fun, check it out...

theres also two new MP maps, one was started by Staffy the other is a fix up of an older map.

nieb,
I just played your SP map nsp2 and I had a blast! Monster and power up placement was right on. The fighting was fair and exciting. The map layout was good, lots of places for the player to duck behind during a fight and hidden monsters were plenty but not overwhelming. The only thing I could criticize is that there wasn't much detailing in the mapping (imho). Game play was great, I loved it. You should really make more SP maps, you got what it takes to make a fun map. MitaMAN

Nieb;

I've started playing on your map, ummm, IMHO, there needs to be just a touch more ammo (just a tiny bit), and the dark areas make it hard to find certain paths (could be a good thing or a bad thing).

Overall so far, 7/10 (I hope you make more SP maps too).

Yes this is a big fun map. Well tuned for both health and ammo but yeah what enigma said, I like the challenge and the bits of fistfighting ... can't have that both ways.

The mapping obsession is wonderful but I've had to learn to regulate it, to trust that those bits on the HD (and backups of course) will either eventually get sorted in bursts of activity or if they don't that has to be okay.

GREAT MAP!

this sounds odd coming from me but it could have been more detailed. :) good monster and ammo though.

it doesn't always look as good as it could, but damn, the gameplay is spot on! diverse, tense, very well balanced, I loved playing it! damn, cube sp can be a lot of fun.

I'll include it in the next release.

#6: Did we all play the same map?

It had its moments, but after fumbling around in the dark to find a passage for the umpteenth I got sick of it.

i like it. lots of variation in the number of monsters attacking at one time. the ammo placement is well thought out. i like how the secrets (health) hidden by darkness i. i would only rethink the trees (eg. put grass around them) and where to go is sometimes unclear. but otherwise a very nice map.

Aard,
I'm glad your putting Niebs' map in the new release. With the right SP maps CUBE once again proves it's a kick as@ game. I hope that including some of the good SP maps that have come out lately will turn more people on to CUBE when download time comes for new players. MitaMAN

Oh yeah.. I keep forgetting about the fist :).

I kinda panic when I run out of ammo...

nieb your new sp map is very nice. It looks good and plays well. The grass slows the fps down a bit though.

@nieb:

only one thing that could be better perfect in your map: when you're placing more than 1 grass mapmodel near another, make sure you change the direction you're viewing to everytime you place a new one (changing the y-axis orientation of the model. by doing so, the model-placement will look more organic... ;-)

same with ivy and other plants...
