dont laugh at the lack of linux.
1.
Q. My server.bat always says "connected, but i couldnt ping you!"
A. I think it may be that my cable modem is really high security and stuff. for example there used to be this one internet prank that showed your ip address and os, and it used to work, but since i got my new computer, it no longer works.
2.
Q. SOMETIMES, the shooting problem occours, where the missle explodes in your face. But sometimes, it works. Why?
A. ... ... !!! ???
3.
Q. Where is a free, non-limited trial-usage model editor i can use? and will anim8or work? (www.anim8or.com).
A. ... ... !!! ???
please try to answer these questions, or correct me if i self-answered them wrongly.

1. This is definitely security-related. Before I locked-down my XP PC, I could run a server OK, but now I've implemented all the recommended security and closed all my ports, I can't. It probably possible, by opening the specific port(s) required, but I haven't got the time/can't be arsed to do it.
2. Maybe sometimes you really ARE standing right in front of a wall ;)
Seriously, it has never been reported to happen like this and, as it's an ATI-specific driver bug, it seems unlikely that it should only be occaisionally...
3. I don't know. Can't be more honest than that :)

Yes, Anim8or works!
just make your model than export it as a 3ds and the run it through this prog http://www.quake2.com/modeling/q2modeller/files/q2mdlr83.zip to get an md2. Of course, it it isnt that simple, but it works
