U could change the owner of cube_unix.bat and the files in bin_unix with
chown yourname:group yourcubepath/bin_unix/ *files*
After that, open a shell and goto your cube directory by using 'cd /yourcubedir'.
Then type
./bin_unix/linux_client
I hope u understand my horrible english =)

well i am also a mandrake noob....but in this case i think you only havent installed the libSDL libary, and this is a required lib to play cube
but its a shame that this is nowhere written down here - dependencies should be on the home-page easy to find - well just my opinion....i hope there is at least in the readme a full list of dependencies

You should cd to your cube directory and the run ./cube_unix from there. Otherwise cube cannot find its resources (that's what it's telling you).
