#76: Abuse |

Another map. This one is small but open, good for instagib only. It doesn't really go out on any limbs, but it does demonstrate my abuse (hence the name) of the engine to fake a room over room.

I also made a minor changed to Fusion. It was a small error in the ceiling, the version difference won't affect gameplay.

I'm keeping everything at my cube page.

is it just me or is it impossible to CREATE accounts? I only have the option to re-cookie myself :)
Anyhow I'm working on a SP map, here's the only good screen of it that exists so far: http://www.suspenlute.com/cube/6.jpg
Incidentally, what happened to "checkmate"? all the links are dead :(

Fern, accounts are created automatically. You indeed can't create new accounts, you'd have to delete your cookie to do that.

Sleep, I saw that after posting my first message. That's actually a pretty cool system. I'm trying to think of something really wrong with it but I can't. =)
Shockie: When I first looked at this thread, somebody was apparently working on a SP map called Checkmate but none of the screenshot links or the links to the cgz would work.

Is there any difference in the way the game treats a "slope" and a "heightfield"? or is a slope just a heightfield with the vdelta values adjusted automatically instead of manually?

Fern, all credit goes to Aard for the idea behind the user system. I would have implemented the Qboard / Qmap system without even thinking twice, but this system has some cool advantages.

No, I did not make Qboard, but I was part of it's community from the beginning and I was somewhat involved in what happened to Qboard in it's last 6 months since I was working together with headshot back then.

Nice map, but in the read me you may want to tell them to edit the menu configeration in the data folder.

#91: Fullbright doesn't work |

I've been toying around with the new version of cube (2002_04_10,) and it's really neat, but there's one thing that REALLY bugs me. I can't get "fullbright" to work.
This may seem really stupid but I didn't have any problems with the previous version. I mean, how hard is it to select an option from a menu or open the console and type "fullbright"?
I don't know. I just can't get it to work. Am I missing something blindingly obvious here?

The menu option doesn't seem to work, you need to drop to console and type (without quotes) "/fullbright 1".
The 1 is the important bit, it tells Cube to turn fullbright on, replace the 1 with a 0 to turn it off.
