#4296: Glass |

Am I right in thinking that in Sauerbraten, glass can only be done in whole cubes, and that if I want a glass wall, I have to make it out of hundreds of small glass cubes, and that also the faces of the glass can only be along the axes ?
If so, have the developers considered a variety of glass that only occupies the space where the texture solid would be ?
Alternatively, is it possible to use textures to make something that looks enough like glass in the existing engine ?

Stotto: Materials can't be sloped. Only full cubes. As far as I know, there is currently no plan to implement anything.
I'm told there is rudimentary support for transparency in models, though what this means I don't know (and I don't want to make a bunch of models to test right now).

When I use /newent sunlight, all the shadows on the ground have jagged/pixelated edges. Anyone know why this is?

i've been trying to play a map i recently finished over lan with a few friends. we're all on macs. when we join the server, only i can see the map, they can all see me floating in the air moving over the terrain that i can see and they can't. obviously they also need the map, but i can't find the .ogz map files in "sourcecode". do i need something like a mac version of gcfscape to access them?
thanks,
taters

Click the show user files button on the launcher. Your maps should be in there.

#4306: Editing Corners = Hanging |

Whenever I push corners, the game absolutely hangs for a second or so, and then the change is made and the hang is over. I also experience a very small amount of lag whenever I push/pull blocks with the mouse wheel.
Does anyone have any suggestions to get rid of the hanging and lag?

Oh, and I think I should mention that I can use Sandbox 2.5 (which uses the Cube 2 engine) with no lag at all when I do anything to the map.
This is Sandbox 2.5: http://sandboxgamemaker.com/

#4310: Mac help...please? |

So I just downloaded onto my mac. And i have used this before with windows. BUT... when i go to look at the different skyboxes, and possibly look into making my own, they dont show up in any folders. I know the wiki and everything says to look in the folder past aplication support, but the only thing in there is config.cfg, servers.cfg, and packages (folder). In the packages folder there is a folder called base. And inside base is untitled.ogz. Am i looking in the wrong place? or are the skyboxes located in another section of my computer?

The included skyboxes are inside of the Cube II application package. Right click on the Cube II icon and go to "Show Package Contents" and you can find them under "gamedata". The structure of this directory should also give you some hints on how to set up your files.
For custom content, it is preferable to use the other location, "/Users/YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME/Library/Application Support/sauerbraten/packages/" so that updated versions of the game can be installed without overwriting custom content.
This directory is empty because you have not put anything there yet, but it is also the default save location. In "packages" you can then create a folder for your work and place the skybox files in here. (Further organization can also be applied) When loading a skybox in Cube II, the path is relative to the packages directory.

I accidentially overwrote the map \"Venice\" (by Garcia or so), how to regain it? Deleting all Sauerbraten files and reinstalling keeps the modified map.
