That would have been a helpful bit of information to begin with. Why don't you go to the Assault Cube Forums and ask there?

Pretty sure "noa" and this "zelda4evr" guy are different. The latter has no idea what he wants to install, and the former is asking AC questions in a predominantly C2 forum.

I've got another question :S
I've put some clip around the edge of my map, but when I come out of edit mode, I got lots of little black marks appearing round the edge of my map making it look nasty. Is there any way I can get rid of these?
Many thanks, Dracion

select the area where you wanna have glass and then type /glass in the console or use the command form the menu.
You can't break through glass in sauer...

Maybe a barrel...
Hmm, maybe I should hack a "window" ent together out of the barrel.

Call it a "panel" and using different mapmodels it could be a grate, a opaque window, a set of wooden boards nailed over a doorway...
Destructible panels would be neeto.

Is there a way to change the damage and explosion radius of a barrel with the script instead of having to change the code and recompile? To me, it doesn't seem like a "destructible window" should explode like a grenade.

Bah. Sauerbraten is way too confusing for someone with as little skill as me. I have no clue how to make a new type of entity.

#3457: Map won't save |

Hello, I have a problem with editing maps. Whenever I try to "save temp map" it says "Could not write to /packages/base/temp.ogz"
I'm sure this has been answered before, but I couldn't find anything about it on google. Thanks!
Also, I have a problem that randomly Sauerbraten leaves fullscreen mode and disables the mouse. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes?
Also, the resolution that I set isn't saved when I quit.
Running Ubuntu Gusty binary.
Thanks again!

Do you have permission to write to the packages/base/ directory? To the temp.ogz file within?
Dumb question, I know, but it's worth a check.

Duh! Thank you so much! BTW, the directory is /usr/share/games/sauerbraten/ which i chowned to my username. Could this cause any problems do you think?
Perhaps in the future, there could be a ~/.sauerbraten folder with game settings and a place for temp maps?
I still have the same problems with the resolution not staying after a restart, and with the random window unfullscreening.
thanks again!
Kerry

Normally, there is a ~/.sauerbraten folder, as you describe, where all user-generated/user-changed content resides. Might play around with the -q option, I think it is, to set up a ~/.sauerbraten folder if you don't have one.

"Perhaps in the future, there could be a ~/.sauerbraten folder with game settings and a place for temp maps?"
You can already do that with the current (and summer) edition of sauerbraten. Keep ~/.sauerbraten symlinked to the original location and use the home directory option -q to tell Sauerbraten where to save/load temp maps/models/etc. :) Sauerbraten will still load maps from ~/.sauerbraten, if you're wondering.
