Annoying text messages?

by Pxtl on 03/10/2004 02:30, 6 messages, last message: 03/15/2004 18:04, 891 views, last view: 04/24/2024 14:03

Okay, first things first - there's nothign stopping players from unacceptable names, like superlong strings (makes the score screen useless) or "you" which makes it confusing (Frank fragged you).

Second, any way to block messages from a player? I really don't need to hear about their sexual exploits with the mothers of various other players 10 times a second.

I've never run into such people on Cube. Just find a different server.

I've seen only one time the one flooding with sexual insults, but as the number of lines displayed is limited this doesn't prevent from playing and ignoring them...

For the confusing names, this problem exists in every game but players can use their brain.

About the over-long names, IMO it's the only one that should be fixed, it's probably no more than 1 line of code limiting the name to 30 char...

pxtl, i've also run into a trash talker who constantly spammed motherly sexual exploits :) it was only once though. wonder if this is the same guy? post his alias if you remember it. we'll give him/her/it some attention so others (admins) can be on the lookout.
