Sauerbraten Map Editing Help

by e:n:i:g:m:a on 03/01/2004 05:09, 6 messages, last message: 02/16/2006 01:28, 1819 views, last view: 04/23/2024 17:28

This thread is for posting questions about map editing in the new, uber-cool, cube-based engine called "Sauerbraten."

OK, enough intro :) If you have a question about map editing in Sauerbraten, post it here. (I too have a question that I would like answered.)

Here are my question:
[1]
I can edit the map with my mouse wheel fine, but I can't seem to raise cubes any higher than they already are. I can lower them, just not raise them.

[2]
(Now I don't know if this is going to change in a future, but) The slopes are only on certain vertices, eg: If I select four, they go in, but if I select four on a corner of that four, they go in at the common corner, creating a sope. (Below is an ASCII picture)

_ _
|_|_| <- These all go in flush...
|_|_|

_ _
|_|_|_
|_|_|_| <- These, selected on the
|_|_| corner of the ones above
go in at the middle and
create a depression.

If you can't see that in the forum, paste it into notepad or something.

Oops, hit enter a little too soon,

OK, the last row of cubes on the second ascii thing are meant to be over one row :)

hold "f" key, then use wheel (without select), when you select, u can decide which corners to delta-edit. etc.

expanding on goets a little, to raise cubes any higher hold f and right click(which de-selects) and use the mouse wheel to raise/lower.

Add this to your config:

bind "1" [ universaldelta 1 ]
bind "2" [ universaldelta -1 ]

Now 1 and 2 perform what the mousewheel does. Can be bound to any key you like.
