I've been impressed by what I've seen of Cube so far, though that is limited to screenshots. The reason why I have yet to play the actual game is this message:
/home/download/cube/cube/bin_unix/linux_client: error in loading shared libraries: /home/download/cube/cube/bin_unix/linux_client: undefined symbol: Mix_Linked_Version
When I run the linux client binary, it switches the screen resolution to 640x480 and displays a black window, so I think it's loading. Then the window disappears, and my desktop reappears, and that message is printed in the console window that I ran Cube in.
Of course, here are some system specs:
AMD K6-2 350MHz
192MB RAM
NVidia TNT2 M64
Suse linux 6.4
kernel 2.2.14
X11R6 version 4 with NVidia drivers

Well, SDL_mixer 1.2.1. Prior versions don't support that particular function.

Hello all,
I tried Cube on linux, and I have the necessary libs. The thing that's bugging me is that I keep getting a "permission denied" message, even as root. Any ideas?
PC:
AMD K6-2 350 MHz
2.4.18 kernel running xfree 4.2.0
3dfx voodoo3 2000 pci
256 MB ram
peanut linux

fade: you need a newer version of SDL mixer, atleast 1.2.1
taz: try chmod +x bin_unix/*;chmod +x cube_unix
The zip format doesn't preserve unix file permissions.
