this is a simple tutorial on how to get sauerbraten to display stereoscopical 3d witch is used for vr headsets.
i using reshade and Depth3d, reshade adds shaders and effects to games.
and Depth3d is a shader created to make almost any game be viewed in 3d so long as its a .exe.
you can download Reshade from https://reshade.me/
and Depth3d from https://github.com/BlueSkyDefender/Depth3D
first you have to execute the reshade_setup.exe, ones it starts press select game and go to C:Program Files (x86)Sauerbratenbin
next it will ask you to select the rendering API, sauerbraten uses opengl so just press that.
after that it will ask if you wish to download a collection of standard shaders, press yes so it will create a folder to put the depth3d shader in.
now it is installed you have to open the Depth3d folder and go to shaders and copy superdepth3d.fx.
you can paste it in C:Program Files (x86)Sauerbratenbinreshade-shaders and delete the rest.
now when you start sauerbraten you will need to press f2 to change the settings of reshade
now a little menu will popup and you will need to follow the tutorial.
after you have made a profile you need to go to the settings tab and select under usage mode performance, after that go back to home and select depth3d.
and then you are finished.
you can share your screen with your smartphone via kinoni and kinovr.
a few more things.. fps is really low.
normally i get with 1080p around 200 fps with everything turned off. with a lower resolution i only get around 20 to 40 fps, so depth3d is very performance heavy.
also keep in mind that evey time you change a setting in sauerbraten you might have to redo some of the steps with reshade, you will have to follow the reshade tutorial again.
