Net neutrality is under attack!

net neutrality is under attack in the United States! Letting big ISP companies take control of the internet infrastructure to block and reduce connections to protocols, websites, competitors! Without a good chance for legal repercussions it seems it's going to effect multiplayer servers latency from and to the US!

I'm not surprised.

In 2014, Framasoft, a French association (famous in francophone countries), started an initiative named degooglisons internet.

https://framasoft.org/
https://degooglisons-internet.org/

This rapidly had an important echo in francophone web but in non francophone web, references to this initiative remained rare and most non francophone internet users never heard about it.

So it was until a speech (in English) about it during the FOSDEM 2017. It apparently had an important echo in anglo-saxon countries.

In march, one of the framasoft servers was the target of a pirate attack, and it appeared it was from the United States.

Framasoft encourage creation of new instances of free alternatives to hegemonic centralized web services.

Apparently, for US authorities, it's clear an important number of people in a lot of countries know this initiative.

This attack against net neutrality visibly is part to their reaction face to this situation.
