Any way to host a cube 2 server with hamachi?

by SoulCinema on 11/22/2016 02:36, 3 messages, last message: 12/01/2016 08:08, 996 views, last view: 05/04/2024 23:24

The only reason I need to use hamachi is because I currently have a static ip address that I am unable to port forward. I'm having issues, and my friend can not connect. What ip am I supposed to use in the server.init file?
Or is this even possible? I got it working on another computer that is in storage right now, and I am unable to use. Any help regarding this issue is appreciated, I am also happy to give any information needed, as long as I know where to get it. Thank you.

(Also sorry if this in posted in the wrong area, this is my first post.)

the easiest way to connect 2 computers is to run your own server. To do this open the server.bat file. This should popup a cmd prompt that disappears and in your tray you should have a cube icon (you can click on it to pull the server prompt up but this is unnecessary).

To connect simply google your ip address and then type /connect YOUR_IP_ADDRESS this will connect you to the server, and this also adds it to the browser list of servers meaning that in the future It should display in the browse servers menu (assuming your ip doesnt change).

Thanks for the fast reply, I'm still having issues, however. My server gives me an error when attempted to start. here's a screenshot:

Any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

I need your specs

So Operating System, cpu model, Network interface card, Any information regarding your router or other useful info where your System may differ from a normal rig. Also inlcude any antivirus or other programs that may hender networking.

If you have a firewall or antivirus try turning it off or adding sauerbraten at the highest level of "ok programs".

If you where curious why this error is occuring. This is due to a rejection from enet. Enet is a server interface library that handels all of sauers client server comunications. The function enet_host_create() is returning null instead of giving back a ENetHost object. This is probably due to a firewall or antivirus block. Or some other block put by your router or system administrator.

There is no known errors with enet, and this function so this must be some kinda block by some outside program or other system level function.
