When I try to build it (no modifications to the source code) I get this error: Sorry unimplemented; 64-bit mode not compiled in.
OS: Windows 8 Pro x64
using latest CodeBlocks MinGW.
Does anyone know a workaround for this? I have tried Google searching, and that got me nowhere.

You need to get the 64 bit version of TDM-GCC from here:
http://tdm-gcc.tdragon.net/download
Then you need to fix the codeblocks compiler tool paths to point at the right compiler, basically go into the tools window and remove the ming32- prefixes from the .exe names and it will then find the installed TDM-GCC 64 bit compilers.
