Performance issue with newer AMD drivers

Hi guys,

since AMD "improved" their OpenGL drivers for the game Rage the performance of Sauerbraten dropped on my machine. I had about 180 FPS and now I sometime have only 30!

My settings and specs:
2x2.4 GHz AMD Prozessor
Raedon HD 5870 Graphics
6 GB Ram
Driver 11.12
Win 7 x64
Vsync is off. All driver settings are at default.

Is something misconfigured or are the new drivers buggy?

Sometimes there are Problems if you don't remove all driver parts first before installing the new version.
The Uninstaller does only half his job. So after using Uninstall, reboot and then run one of this tools:

For Win XP:
http://www.ati-forum.de/files/Downloads/Tools/DriverCleaner/DriverCleanerProSetup.exe

For Vista/Win 7:
http://www.ati-forum.de/files/Downloads/Tools/DriverCleaner/DriverCleanerPESetup.exe

Reboot again to be sure and then install the driver. If the Problem persists you can downgrade the same way and install the 11.11 again.

Sadly I have the same experience with my 5770 that there are some bigger bugs in non mainstream OpenGL applications with the catalyst drivers.
