Add a texture to a selfmade model

Hey,
i just made a sniper rifle for cube 2, but the textures just don't want to work. The Start of the file looks like this :

mesh {
// meshes:rifle
shader "D:\Sauerbraten\packages\models\hudguns\rifle\sniper.png"

...

I just see the original texture, even though i changed the old ones! When I delete the first line (// meshes:rifle) it is just yellow... So what am I doing wrong?

You can't use the md5 file directly. I mean, you can, but it likely won't work. You need a config file - just look at how it's done for the other weapons (md5.cfg files) and read http://sauerbraten.org/docs/models.html

Thanks for the response.Actually i didnt touch the config but actually I should work...:

part of the config:

md5load "rifle.md5mesh"
md5skin rifle "<dds>sniper.png" "<dds>sniper_mask.png"
md5bumpmap rifle "<dds>sniper_normals.png"

But its also pretty strange that the old texture still appears,even though it doesnt exist anymore!

Ok problem solved, made a stupid mistake: I forgot the "" at the shader path and I had to delete the // meshes:rifle. Now it works :)

sniper.png doesn't exist any more, but sniper.dds probably does. With the <dds> in front of the file name, the equivalent DDS file gets loaded instead if your graphics card supports it.

Nevermind then. (should refresh the page before I post...)
