When I create monster entities, how do I get them in action?

I'm a newbie. I've dabbled a bit and when I create monster entities, they don't show up when the map is run. Do I have to change the game mode? TIA!

if you start up cube, and start mapping, its not a game mode that has monsters (ffa/default). Go into SP THEN load your map and it will have your monsters in.
