Game crashes 'garbage in map'

I saved my map, and when I came back to it later, the game crashed and on the console said 'garbage in map'.

I used the search function, and one thread said to use the .bak files.

I guess I will have to, but I have a few questions:

1. What causes the error/crash?
2. Is there a way to fix it in case it happens in the future, so I don't have to load an earlier version of my map?

0.0 never ever had such error.
Maybe the save-file is corrupt?

Does that happen just with that one file, or with every map you save?

Well, I've already switched to an older save and continued, so it's not too much of a hindrance.

However, it was the first time I encountered the error, and I do not know what might have happened to cause the error.

Short answer: just that file, and just that one time.

Maybe you could upload that one file so people could check out and maybe even figure out what caused the problem?

Sadly, when I loaded the back up map, I saved it as the regular map name, so the corrupted map file that had the error was overwritten.

The good news was that I just used the back up without much problems arising.

But if anyone out there has encountered the problem before, or has an answer/idea as to why the error occurred, the input would be greatly appreciated.
