Sauerbraten Movement

Hello, I am new to the game of Sauerbraten. First off, I really enjoy the fast-paced gameplay along with the remarkable aiming system that the developers brought gamers. I do have a suggestion for this game and that would be "bunnyhop". Basically, what im asking is to incorporate a way to continuously accelerate with the use of bunnyhopping allowing faster, more advanced gameplay. My thought would be to equalize strafing movements allowing a way to strafe/bunnyhop around corners without losing speed. Also, I think an additional weapon such as a chargeable laser rifle alongside the sniper to boost the player greater distances contributing to the speed and playability of the game. Doing so would allow the player to charge the weapon accordingly to the jump they will wish to perform. A small jump would be a low powered charge but a full powered charge would take longer to charge but would give the player a much greater boost without damaging his or herself. I feel that making these enhacements will stimulate creative and competitive gameplay. I have played many fps games, however, Sauerbraten has opened my eyes in areas other games havn't. Thank You for reading my post and please provide feedback with what you think. :)

IMO, bunny hopping is what would make gameplay unbalanced, like in Counter Strike. It's hard to do, and those who can do it will be exploiting it so much for such a fast paced game it will grow out of control.

It's not difficult to master the basics of bunnyhopping. Bunnyhopping has been implemented in various fast paced first person shooters. It enables the gamer to engage combat with more agressive, evasive, and precise maneuvers. Gameplay will be balanced as gamers adjust accordingly. In my honest opinion, to the die-hard hardcore fps gamer, movements such as jumps and tight turns will be like cutting through butter with a chainsaw :) I respect your opinion and everyone has a right to their own. I have no offense whatsoever towards the development team regarding Cube2. I love fps and I truely see great potential with Cube2. Thanks for your generous support dot3 labs!

I think if it'd be done like in Painkiller (Multiplaer) it would be good.
Technique is dead simple.

cutting to the chase, why do you want something that has been done by other games? and two: do you really think that is more quake like?

to post on the reals though, i don't think bunny hopping would be much fun, it would take original gameplay and shoot it down the tubes instead of enhancing it, many people are fine with the strafing movements, it may not be the best in everyone opinion, but it has been like this for a long time, and everyone has a feel for it.

perhaps we could come up with a better strafing idea instead of bunny hopping?

this game is already fast enough
I think it is the fastest game I had ever played.
If Counter strike is speed 1 then quake 2 is speed 2
quake3 is speed 3 and this game is speed 5

bunnyhop is good and is selected by many fps games. but I didn't find any game more interesting than this game.
quake2,quake3,warsow and so on....even counterstrike
this game moves fast but steady. you don't have to jump every time to gain much speed, instead you just run fast and jump whenever necessary.
This is an excellent system.

jump is not always the best way. in quake2 you always jump because it will be faster, but in this game if you always jump, the others will trace the place where you land easily and shoot as soon as you land. so in sauerbraten we don't jump all the time.

i stopped playing sauerbraten because there is no strafe/circle jumping, making gameplay too easy to master.
