Sauerbraten Portability

I am on a computer to which I do not have superuser privledges. When I run sauerbraten, it complains that it needs libSDL_image. I have compiled libSDL_image under my home directory, and have the requisite binaries in my home directory.

How can I instruct sauerbraten to use these specific libraries, which I have placed under ~/lib?

(placing the libraries under the sauerbraten directory didn't help)

Assuming you're on Linux:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=~/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./sauerbraten_unix

should do the job.
