A few Beginner-Questions

Hey @ all
I´m from germany and since three days I´m working with Cube 2 Sauerbraten. Really a great program. :-)
Well, I have some questions. I´ve searched for answers, but found nothing. So, please help me:

- How can I use my own textures? The textures in the folders are jpegs. If I replace a texture with my new one, I found this one in the editor, too. But I don´t want to replace them, I want to add new textures. Some pre-installed levels using complete other textures. How I can change the packages?

- I have the Justice-Edition and I have read, it´s possible to rotate and scale the textures, but I found no menu-point or similar. How can I do this?

- Is it any way to scale the entities and rotate them in X and Y axis?

hello, look in maps cfg files. in /packages/base and u se how texture stuff works. by ent u mean models? mark the model and hit f3 then a menu pops up there u can rotate it but only one axis model tilt is not suported.

Ah thanks, I found a tutorial here to add new textures. I had no .cfg file until then, for my own map. Now it works.
That´s great for my upcoming Duke Nukem-Map ^^
Thanks again, for the quick answer. :-)

You can, if you set up your own configuration file for the model

Some steps how to do that;
1. locate wich config-file extension.
mostly it's "md2.cfg", "md3.cfg", "md5.cfg" or "obj.cfg".
2. Copy and paste the hole folder somewhere else in the folder "models" (or just the config-file if you know what your doing, not recommended since you still have to put the config-file into an empty folder, if you want to do it clean)
3. Change the configurations inside the config-file, like "mdlscale", "mdlyaw", "mdlpitch", mdltrans" and "mdlspin", etc).
4. Start up sauerbraten
5. Load your map
6. put in command-line "mapmodel 170 0 0 "path_of_model_here_wich_always_starts_at_the_folder_called_models".

Good luck and have fun...

for using own textures just use this command
exec "packages/name_of_folder_with_textures_inside_it/package.cfg)
(if you have set a config-file of your textures! This should always be "package.cfg"!
If you haven't set a config-file, then put things like:
"setshader stdworld"
texture 0 "aard/aardfdry256_1.jpg" 0 0 0 0

inside the configuration file of your map (wich MUST carry the same name as your map!)).

Good luck again...
P.S.
Check out the docs of sauerbraten.org for texture commands (and also model commands)!
