Old sauer screenshots

Looking back at the sauer homepage, i came to realise how "crappy" the game looks by the screenshots provides, though it has advanced in so many ways since the days these images were added. Most of them are more likely to turn people away if they ever see them.

So, for whoever is interested, i say we take some new awesome pictures of the new maps, the cool features and other crazy yet awesome stuff that would make someone to seriously try the game out. after all, presentation is what matters on quadropolis as well for this game.

great map a few years ago, maybe shortly after Sauer took Cube's place. Now it looks like a bunch of crap. If i were some new guy to have heard of this game, i'd say "fuck no" if i ever saw this. No offense to anyone intended, but this ain't 2000 no more.

Every time people attempt to take screenshots, they generally fail at basic common sense - like they've heavily modded the game, do not use the right/consistent resolutions, have turned off most graphics features so the game looks ugly, etc. etc. So people are welcome to try, so long as they don't continue to mess it up like every previous time. :)

sure thing, we can decide which ones to keep. everyone who has a decent pic of a map, upload it somewhere and give a link, and we'll see which are keepers or not :)

i've got 15 new screenshots of existing maps in the release. more will follow, though some maps in my opinion do not deserve to be in it. simply because they have way too many or big problems, or because they're simply crap :/

I just made a few screenies showing off the latest levels with all normalmapped textures and other fancy things. I took pictures of alloy, xenon, lost, aard3c, deathtek and fanatic_quake. Also maybe a few more I forgot. Also, all my graphics settings are on! Yay!

If you were to use another format then .png it would drastically lower your file-size ;)

everything is on except for the display options (see anisotropic filtering) :P

i don't think the aspect ratio matters...
It is for a website -> 16:9 should be ok, too o.O
btw: I just took them how they were displayed on my 15" screen :D

Perhaps some standards should be set.

-Resolution: 1280x720
-Anti-Aliasing: 4x or higher
-No modified media (maps, textures, models, etc.)
-Shaders On
-Texcompress Off

good try. but..

1) curvy castle is not a good map to take pics of.
2) same as 1 for dune2
3) modified skins on justice.. -.-
4) all i see is a flag, nothing too interesting. you should try to avoid showing the end of a map, like the pit down there.
5) as for river_c, you could have done better. next time go in spec before taking a picture to help your view.
6) i don't see much in these tortuga pictures :(

1280x720??? Why the nonstandard and unnecessarily huge size? Those images would take ages to load! It should be at most 640x480 or if you insist on using widescreen, 800x480.
