#7: More Opportunities

by MisanthropX- on 06/23/2010 22:47, refers to #5

1. better network system

it makes me sad that sauerbraten has a great network system, but no way to extend it except through beta mods like xsbs, frogmod.

we plan to include many features like givemaster, sendto (force getmap), whisper, and control via console/remote/irc.

2.better configurability through menus,
with all binds, configurable zoom,
full menu for creation of maps (texture selector, skybox/cloud picker, everything about environment (fog)

3. more comfortable editing.
entity helper-text.
more linkable entities with interactions.
make the world living should be possible.
we make use of the edithud.

4. a full user friendly guide, what i really dislike about sauerbraten is that you are thrown in a new world and there is no information except go on a server and spam until someone helps you.

5. Tutorials about playing AND editing ingame, offline, online, html, pdf, doc..

6. new and more tactical game modes
in Sauerbraten almost everyone just plays instagib.
We will implement a more tactical environment, the gameplay will be the same fast as it was in sauerbraten. but we will add tactical aspects and oppurtunities in the core gameplay and also in the map gameplay.

7.new and unique Maps
Quantity is not Quality.
In the case of Sauerbraten we pretty many maps, but only 10 of them are meant to be played. all other are too frustrating in gameplay because they are from earlier releases. so you jump against bars every now and then, and the gameplay doesnt fit into the new fast paced one.
Metl3 wasnt that playable anymore since summer edition.
