New release in next couple months...

So, please, if you've got any new maps you've been hiding away or procrastinating finishing, get them submitted to Quadropolis soon so any problems with them can be spotted and release quality maps can be included.

We're not even having a flamewar, and you invoked Godwin's law already?

I thought it was more of a theocracy, where you are our Laser Pope?

#81: Sauer not compatible with older maps

by zaaikort on 06/19/2010 00:06

Or should I say: my old maps are not compatible with later editions of Sauerbraten?
The two maps I prepared for submission have problems with the 2009 edition (and the upcoming edition may bring even more problems).
They were built in 2007 and adapted for 2008, but now I am stuck.
You can find (one of) them on my website http://zaaikort.nl/cube2/mozaiek.html

Is this forum the right place to discuss the details?

Oops! No post-editing... How embarrassing!
Uhh, can somebody remove #80 ??

#83: Trooper to SVN differences

by Gambit on 06/26/2010 02:42

If anyone's interested, I've ran my old diffing scripts that I've posted before against the svn version and here is the output (after some tweaking):

Trooper to SVN commands:
http://pastebin.com/FVgrHZ3x
Trooper to SVN variables:
http://pastebin.com/mzKdasUs

And I did this one separately, the list of undocumented commands:
http://pastebin.com/jJ7Yftdm
Most of the stuff on the left are aliases and thus false positives, but some like 'damageblend' and 'loddistance' seem like they really should be removed from the docs.

And finally, the scripts:

Enjoy! :)

#84: iCTF versus CTF - consider more separation

by Zorg on 06/29/2010 16:38

Just one idea, probably too late for this release:

As of now, every CTF map is automatically an iCTF map and vice versa. For some maps, this works well. For others in my opinion it doesn't work. Some maps are great for CTF, but become boring with the rifle. Others have nice gameplay with the rifle, but with normal weapons, gemaplay becomes way too fast or changes in some other way.

My suggestion would be to have another look at the (i)CTF maps presently there, and drop one or the other mode in a handful of maps (just look at the custom server rotations, some maps aren't played in some modes anyways).

What's up with the rpg.exe why has this been added back to sauerbraten?

I see no point for it to be in sauerbraten. nothing has changed since the last time it was in sauerbraten.

a much cooler thing to have in sauerbraten would be the sidescroller from sandbox.

#86: skytexture

by suicizer01 on 07/05/2010 16:54

its a very nice improvement, that skytextures arent blocking skylight anymore, but what about just normal light?
if it wouldnt block normal light anymore, skytextured geometry can be used like clip but then can be smoothed out like a curve. or is it already possible to "bend" clip?

This thread was started back in April. It's now July. It's been a couple months.

What's the status on the next release?
