Main Menu (stretch background)

I would like the 'main menu background'
/data/background.png
so it is just a picture stretched from corner to corner.

right now, whatever size that image is,
it gets re-sized and textured like a wallpaper.
how and what code should I edit to fix this?


I also want to get rid of:
\data\background_decal.png
\data\background_detail.png
so that it just shows the picture without any extra layers.
I obviously can't just delete the images
