How do you read text that people type into chat from a server?

ex. Somone types in \\\\\\\"hi\\\\\\\" and I want to run a script that does somthing else.



Also... how would I make a message pop up in everyone\\\\\\\'s console using the echo command

ex. psl.sauerleague.org says \\\\\\\"be kind to your eyes, don\\\\\\\'t forget to blink!!!\\\\\\\"

for your first question: i have no idea what you're talking about. unless you mean people who are on irc.

for your second question: that is not possible. What you see is the Message Of The Day, or MOTD. all servers have it. you cannot echo thing in other people's consoles.

The first question I am asking is: How can I have the server read the text that people type?

and the second... It is possible (maybe not with the echo command) because I have seen it on psl.sauerleague.org
What happens is every 5 mins or so they have a message pop up.

psl.sauerleague.org runs a diffrent server type than the server.bat... they either made their own formatted server, used hopmod, or frogmod. things as such you can script yourself to do that however server.bat last time i checked won't show the MOTD every five mins...

How do I use/install hopmod or frogmod? The official sites are very unexplanitory.

contact the people on the site (using either IRC)or by using their "contact us" button (most websites have one, this site may not)
