Open old Map (only ogz) with latest Sauerbraten? |

Hi sorry for the noob question, cant find an answer in the faq or wiki.
I have an old Map that i have created in Sauerbraten 2006_06_11_sp_edition and it is only a ogz file. How do i open this in the latest Sauerbraten? Do i need to convert it somehow, what do i do? Thanks!

Just open it normally. It will work fine. What are you using the sp edition for anyway?

No good, i cant see it from the load level menu. I have placed the ogz file in the base folder with all the other maps. but no i cant see it. can i somehow get a console and load it from the console?

your right it it a noob question. what he ment is that you open it like a normal custom map. just type /map mapname

yesyes thanks! /map mapname worked fine!
But how do i get it to appear on the normal load level selection?
I have created a cfg file, a jpg preview image. but no waypoint file .wpt as i have no idea how to create it. but it doesnt appear in the level section

i honestly don't know but most people don't make there maps into the list of the main maps since the list is usually only the actual official maps.... but you can do what ever you like :P

Use "/showwaypoints 1" to show the waypoints (they appear as blue lines) and "/dropwaypoints" to drop them as you move. When you do drop them, don't jump except when absolutely necessary (such as over lava or an endless pit), and don't riflejump at all.

If you want non-official maps to show up in the menus there are scripts on quadropolis to do this, such as:

It would be nice if there was an "other maps" section in the standard Sauerbraten menus, but....

well, you can just make that GUI tab(s) and button(s)... just look in: C:\Program Files\Sauerbraten\data\menus
(also by doing such, you can add your own maps to the menu)
