You'r Cube story

by Glenn on 06/30/2003 11:23, 34 messages, last message: 02/18/2004 09:10, 5748 views, last view: 05/16/2024 08:12

Cube is a great game , but there is something missing ....
And that's a story !

In this Thread you can post you'r own Cube story . Don't steal things from the story of Quake, Unreal, Doom,.....
It must be a new story , only for Cube.

Hope you can read my bad english,
Glenn

Official game storyline: "You kill stuff. The End."

It's the minimalist design of Cube: happy frags ;), and i think it was more designed for multiplayer.

But feel free to make a SP campaign, with a good story, even with cinematics/inter-map sequences (or at least text on the console, commanded by triggers), or better -modify the source to have predefined monster movement at some moments-, that could be cool :)

well i think story should be added to a mod of cube, cube is good with no story line becuase there is no level boundries, like i could have a caslte sp map after a futureistic map and it would not matter wich is pretty cool

well , if theres a story to doom i dont think it would be big , but i wish that the levels would make sence as you pass them (or episodes , campaigns) but oter then that the sp is quite good and better then some games that you would bye at the a game shop (im not joking)

#6: The Story

by Thalion on 06/30/2003 23:18

... ancient ruins ... military base ... scientific experiments ... large empty chamber ... portal to an unknown dimension ... a research team ... sudden ambush ... and now you find yourself standing above the coprses of your former colleagues... no, wait, no corpses... OK, you stand at the place where your colleagues have been brutally devoured by the monsters. Portal is closed, so the only thing remaining is revenge: KILL THE BASTARDS!

[Kinda fan fiction =)]

Dooms story line is actually pretty good (at least for the games style and theme etc.)

That said I do like cubes minimalistic storyline a lot, it's the underling one on almost all fps' anyway.

Yeah, I know.

Speaking of which, I have a dev version of Quad with working mirror and rotate editing functions. Also a copy and paste for entites (which can be bound to the same key as regular copy and paste if you want to do it all at once). They won't be part of an official release until Sludge is where I want it to be, but anyone who desperatly needs those functions for say a CTF map can e-mail me.

You play as a robot found in greecian ruins.
The team that found you were attacked
by monsters, and ran off with you.
They realize your power, and send you
off to investigate, being the safest way to see what those things are.

<b>patthegreat<b> has the right idea, cube does not need a plot or story line, it limits the game if there is one and who would care for one anywhy.

your name is stinky the ugly ogoro and all your ogoro brothers hate you for being uglyer than they are so they team up with all the other deamons and throw rocks at you, realising that rocks arnt doing anythng they decide to go in a rampage and try to kill you wit fireballs and such, luckly they don't know what guns are and you do, so you dodge thier very-slow-projectiles made of what not and shoot them all in the face in a mad rampage! hooray!
