Fog Density (animation?)

by Razgriz on 08/03/2009 19:13, 4 messages, last message: 08/16/2009 07:53, 1481 views, last view: 04/04/2024 19:41

I came to think that the fog in SB is always dense and all you see at a distance is gray masses, so i come to ask if it is possible to have the option to set the fog density, thus making the fog more sparse at some points, and possibly animate it to make it look more original and real, something like the caustics the water has.

better yet, how about areas that you have selected with the mouse, and then you get a command like /fogdens so and so numbers (default whatever the default fog is...)

although a nice idea, who would do it? besides, from the idea you had, why didn't you just use the same water caustics and just change it a bit?

Actually this sounds more of /foglayer and /fogalpha. It would be awesome and easy to configure for everyone. Just like clouds

but a "foglayer" will look really unrealistic, and so i think it should just use the same caustics as water. only you change the "fog caustics" so it has areas that i thinker and thinner... good or bad idea?
