New Sauerbraten Video

i've been having ideas about a cooler starting screen, with a new sauerbraten trooper video. This video should also be shown on the site. I like the starting screen, as it is now, but having a sauerbraten video at the start would make the game look very polished. I really don\'t have much to say about this, but it could show shots of the best sauerbraten players owning newbies in DM, and also demonstrate the ragdoll physics engine. This video would also be available on the website like the one there now. I dunno, just wanted to say something about this, because the best release of sauerbraten should definitely have a new video. If there are actually reasons why there isn\'t a video, or if the video is already being planned, please let me know.

You won't see video playback support in Cube 2 within the foreseeable future; there's a whole array of issues and design problems surrounding such a feat (one of which is either a large volume of code required, or another dependancy which is sorta frowned on).

I'd certainly vote for more showcase videos linked from this website, but I totally fail to see the point of videos within the game. (Especially if it makes releases any bigger)

i guess it wouldn't be a great idea to put videos in the game if it makes the release any bigger (its already massive!!). On another note though, the screens are extremely outdated, and they seem to be from 2005. These definitely need to be updated, because they don't give people a clean idea of what the game is actually like. A lot of people complain about lame graphics in the old version, and the latest one has attracted many new players because of the graphics and models. If there's any reason why this couldn't be done, old screens should at least say what version of sauer they're from.

i think it might be nice to make a new vid for the cube home-page, as well as another site linked to this one showing more vids of trooper or older versons of cube if you have them. also i would reccamend a new video captuer, that is allowed (but not forced) to be downloaded, in other words, you can sponser a camera that you can, but don't have to download so you won't have to worry about the room used if you don't want it.

hold it, if you read and understood it properly, i am suggesting the idea that you make a downloadible video camra, sorta lik what we have, the diffrence is these two things, one: you do nopt have to download, it is a separate download and does not come with sauer. and two: you can use it when ever sorta like taking a screen shot, you don't need to worry about being admin or anything. i myself cannot take vids because i neither have a exterior cam, nor can i use the one that i downloaded becuase it won't work property. just a bit of an idea for people to think about.

well how can you do record demo? its a camra that allows you to record whjat you did, so i am suggesting one that will won't under any circumstance, wether you are admin of a server or not.

This thread is about videos - and everyone can create them with http://sauerbraten.org/docs/game.html#movie_recording

Using the demo recording isn't so good for advertising sauerbraten as it requires sauerbraten to be installed first.
