missing maps

oh my god!! i just noticed skycastle was taken out of sauerbraten :(. That was my favorite ffa map, and it was massive!! what other maps were taken out from this?

Why not just download it from quadropolis if you want it so badly?

i don't because most people won't have it to play online with me. THIS SUCKS-> i loved to play on skycastle with the game mode "insta assassin" and now both are gone!! I am sad :(

you need to make sure your spelling and everything is correct, to have positive proof you needd top type /map skyc then press tab, plus i still have skycastle, it makes me wornder, did you remove every bit of sauerbraten from your comp before downloading the new version? if so you WILL need to download it from quadropolis.us, besides for people that don't have it, you can turn the mode to 1 (coop) and send it to them.

sub-zero, it still bothers me that its not in the release. And its also supposed to be listed under the maps (concept) with spiralz and ladder ect. the new release has also attracted a lot of new players, which will not have the map when they join the server.

so what? you can still get on it even if so, plus if most people (like me) downloaded this version without uninstalling the older version or are new to the game, they'll have it. it is in the release for people that have it, and again, for those that don't just send them the map, don't make such a big deal out of the smallest grain of sand.

That's really strongly discouraged, that's an almost surefire way to break your install. Even if you install it side-by-side, rather than on top (again, strongly discouraged), that's a tremendously inefficient way to acquire a few maps.

I have considered making a map-pack in the past, and now I'm starting to think it'd be a good idea, since so many people have commented on the absence of skycastle. I don't have time ATM (double summer courses), but after this month I might be able to throw something together.

i find this sad nixot, that you seem to be the only one that hates skycastle. everyone else seems to like it and mode "assassin", i like skycastle too, and mode assassin. your opnion is noted, but there seems to be more people liking it, sorry if what i said pisses you off, i just think you need to know that it was a good map for gameplay (although it would be nice to have some minor tweaking on a few areas) and seems be one of the most missed maps. although some other good maps are like orgowaystation and ogrosville. but still, like tentus said, it would be nice to have the map put back in (and may as well be, considering comments and treads have been posted about it.) although (this is a problem that has been risen to rather larger than expected)this problem is that most servers have now only a "forced mode" or are set to coop-edit. if we are to play the mode assassin (if we get this mode again)we will need some people who may open up sevrers to assassin only. everyone please note that what i just said is only a "IF" and not "It is", but the servers will need either a mode forced to assassin or set like to last version to have some server that are "pick any mode" and yet still being an "auth" server.

the only problem i've found with skycastle is that the spawn points arn't spread out enough, so everyones always in the same area during insta-gib matches. That doesn't mean the game play is rubbish though, it just means that the map was most-likely meant for ffa modes, having to run around the whole map to collect weapons. I also think this map could make a good SP map for the next release, because its so massive.

i found that the spaw points being closer makes it more fun, because then when you die you have to struggle to not get shot as soon as you respawn

Is it more of a challange to not get shot then? Yes. Thats why its fun, because I am diffrent and can escape from people like that because I know their moves and what they will do. Just for fun i'll throw this in, some one (besides you now) will think that I am a crazy (the insane type) person. To respond to that before it is said by anyone else or asked by anyone else, yes, I am insane, I am nutter than a bag of nuts. And you might want to take notes because here is the big picture, insanidy is good. And they might even start getting on my case because I think that some people are predictable, considering the fact that most people are predictable. the reason that I like the spawn points like they are is because I know what people will do, and I can get out without getting shot. Can you?

If Skycastle gets completely retextured and optimized (I think PVS can be handy right there), it can be awesome.

There were some bits of skycastle that need to be changed: the doors can't open and such. Skycastle would be wicked with like 100 players in it in an insanity FFA match. It was epic to explore but it's not even finished! It really needs to be looked over. I think it would be great in a massive Capture battle too.

ok, i have uploaded two diffrent types of thigs, one i have modifed my own "menus" CFG file and have uploaded it on quadropolis.us here i'll add the node tomorrow.
