I didn't delete it either, which now makes me pretty sure who it was that did.
And regarding "double standards": read my latest comment on the node .. the use of the URL-field is to be used as _additional_ download-source - so when quad is slow (again (as usual)) people might have better download-speeds from the secondary source.

OK, I calmed down a bit now. The repackages version with a different model has been released. Also, I can't upload it anyway because apparently there's an upload limit of 10.5 mb, and my file is much bigger than that, so, you know...

Yes, *I* removed the link. Quadropolis is not around to serve ad revenue to a filesharing site, especially one as unreliable as RapidShare. Use MediaFire (or other reliable and not-so-limited) site as suggested, or even better, create a project on Sourceforge/Freshmeat/Other open source project hosting service, there's plenty of them and the profits go back to the open source community where they belong. This also assumes that you're serious about such a project and plan to continue (and not abandon) it; seriously, it takes only a day or two for approval and opens up a wide array of services available to you as a developer - it just requires a little patience and planning, which we kinda expect if you're gonna be making a mod.

Nixot, i hate how when anyone opposes you (which is most people), you flame on about how quadropolis sucks and how everyone is a moron. You're losing respect man! And i know you're going to find a way to do the same with this comment i just posted.

It just makes me sick when I spend lots of my free time on a project, nobody comments on how it is and instead talks about licenses. If everyone did that then nobody would feel bothered to create any content, which is seriously how I'm feeling now. I feel as if all my time and effort that went into this was a complete waste.

If you spend lots of free time on a project, surely it wouldn't hurt to spend a bit more resolving licensing issues, would it? If you've REALLY worked on it all that hard, then when someone tells you about a problem, you should jump at the chance to perfect it even more.

You're talking like you have a right to receive constructive criticism - you don't. This is a community of people who participate for no monetary gain whatsoever, and most of them don't have time to go over and review every single project they notice. It is a privilege, not a right.

If I don't have a right to constructive criticism, then does that mean people can just flame me in their comments? I thought that was against the rules.

Who said anything about flaming? If it's against the rules, than it's not allowed, and will be enforced.

Licenses carry weight that you have to respect. If you can't get in touch with someone because their email is a decade old, then tough cookies, you have to find a different model. Use a blank box as a stand-in if you have to: making an unanimated monster in q2modeler is not hard.

Either way, you've lost a lot of potential testers because of how you've acted on Quad and this thread. I, for example, have no plans of giving you any constructive criticism because of your behavior. This is the weight that licenses tread lightly with, as opposed to the legal stomping that they can and sometimes do bring down.
