demo recording

I have some problems with recording a demo:
I did:
/setmaster 1
--And i see: 'unname claimed master' ok
/recorddemo 1
--nothing happens! but the help documents tell me demo recording should be enabled for next math?
/ffa sp3
--only changing map, but no mention happens!
/stopdemo
--nothing happens!

/recorddemo 1
-- Correct (I think), but try a name, like /recorddemo asdf for example.
/mastermode 1
-- Allows the master to force map changes.
/ffa sp3
-- WRONG! sp3 is a Singleplayer map. Try metl3 or something like that.
/stopdemo
-- I'm sure, correct. But record a demo first.

Nixot's reply wasn't really helpful .. what a suprise.

Sauerbraten doesn't log all that much into the console - but unless this has changed drastically since I last tried it your approach is totally correct.
Although sp3 is intended for single-player you can still record a demo in FFA!

Try "/listdemos" and then "/getdemo 1";
you do NOT need to (nor can you) give it a name beforehand .. it'll end up as a number-named file anyway when you download .. the number of milliseconds your engine has been running as a matter of fact.

Hero reminded me: you need to be _admin_, not just master .. so you need to do "/setmaster 1 ServerPass" (with the appropriate server password - set one via the "-p" commandline-argument)

Arghl - editing option would really help when you don't research your replies sufficiently.
The command to use is:
/setmaster ServerPass - to claim admin
/setmaser 0 - to relinquish your powers
and if you use
/setmaster 1 .. you'll just become master, not admin.

Thanks for your replying! After analysing the sauerbraten's code, i found that the command of "/setmaster 1" can only get the privilege of SV_MASTER, not SV_ADMIN, with which can record demo properly!

Well I'm sorry for being unhelpful. I never used the demo recording whatsits in Sauerbraten, only Cube 1.
