How can I record \"demos\" during a game in Sauerbraten. (Like the video on Cube 2 homepage).

/recorddemo 1 will record the next match (it requires master status)

with /listdemos and /getdemo <id> you download them

with /demo demoname.dmo you play them

Is there any way to just record a demo when in edit mode...
I am trying to create a video flying through the map.

Try being a spectator! It'll look much better too - due to the different rendering when editing!
If that is what you want though you'll either have to wait for the movierecord functions of the next release or use some screen-capture tool. Appropriate tools may be "fraps", "Camtasia Studio", "GameCam", .. (windows), "glc" (*Nix)

It requires admin status, not just master. means, you need the password of the server and enter /setmaster password
