'Splat' game engine?

by Nixot on 03/20/2009 16:11, 8 messages, last message: 03/24/2009 19:58, 1635 views, last view: 05/01/2024 11:37

I know this isn't a discussion thread or anything and not related to cube at all, but I felt I would get more answers and maybe attract someone who knows about this game engine. I have read the section in Mr. Van Oortmerssen's graphics engine page. I am intrigued by the Splat game engine and would like to know where I can download it. Thanks in advance.

that is one of my VERY early experiments in engines, and rather irrelevant compared to cube 2..

The only cool thing about it is that it does fisheye rendering in software, and it had this weird level structure made out of rectangles (which the engine made into a regular cube grid).

I guess I should be aware that my web pages still contain content from >10 years ago.

When you say rectangles, do you mean a 2D level layout like Cube?
The main reasons that I wanted to see it was that it did fisheye rendering, and that the description said it had provisions for in-game geometry editing.

Cool. Is there a page where I can download it? It seems really interesting.
