Hello all... this thread is for discussing features you would like to see in cube, and in particular those that you find most urgent. If lots of people have the same urgent requests, I may give it priority to be implemented.

#61: Editing |

Wow...great job. Cube is awesome. Great gameplay, good engine, and best of all...coop editing! I just have a few questions/suggestions.
1. Is there a way to rotate a texture? or scale it to a different size? If not, I think this would be pretty handy.
2. In coop edit, it says you cannot create arches. Is it just that you have not implemented this in, or decided not to for some reason?
3. Is there a way to save to another filename than temp.czg? Of course I can go in and rename the file, but if there isn't a way, this may be a good addition.
Oh, and about the colored lighting. I would add it, just for those people that do like to mess around with it. I, however, do not like colored lights, and just prefer the old black and white lights. But many people do like the colored lights, and would probably be a nice addition.
Now I'm sure you have thought of millions of things to add into Cube, even everything I have mentioned. I just wanted to add in some thoughts. Keep up the work on this...it really is awesome.

Something to add to the list: Since I have been accumulating maps, I sometimes forget the map names. A dir command would be helpful.

1) nope... yes would be useful, though with a bit of planning easy to get around.
2) lazyness... every edit command requires extending the network code and I just postponed doing that.
coloured lighting: yeah I will probably add that some day, just for the sake of it.
rick: Dir command: maybe... maybe an automated maps menu is nicer.

#67: compatibility to sourcecode |

I would LOVE to see a MacOSX or Darwin version of this game. I run a linux, windows, and mac system. I must say of all of them I like the linux and mac systems most, BUT the mac system isn't supported by you guys.
I will help you port it if you want, but I take it that the project is closed source, so you'll have to figure out if you want to do anything about that, if you want to do anything about that at all.
No matter what though, I would LOVE to see a mac version, particularly MacOSX or Darwin, thanks.

I primarily work on a Linux/PPC machine. I have MacOs X on a neglected partition in the murky depths of my hard drive, but don't really ever boot into it. Conceivably, I could pull together a MacOS X port fairly easily if I just felt like going through the hassle of downloading Apple's developer kit, otherwise it's just a straight compile (it already works on ppc).

#71: about macosx porting |

I would love to port it but would like to know where to get the source to do so. Could you point me in the right direction?
And on another note...
I have been heavily considering going to linuxppc, but this is my quandry: LinuxX86 is very supported now, and you can get almost anything for it, but I don\'t know if there is so much support for linuxppc yet. In you experience have you had a lot of compatibility issues or does it run everything you want it to?

An option at the top of maps to select one at random! That's all of about 2 minutes of work right there.

#75: Server query |

I would like to see a way to query the server implemented. I'm usually checking all my servers via qstat (www.qstat.org) and display some information like the current player count on my website. Some kind of gamespy protocol would be great, although Ggamespy Query isn't very consistent since it doesn't allow backslashes in strings...

Could you add Texture Compression in Cube? This would speed up the game considerably... :)

Hud weapon ? What is ? I got some weapons I dupicated, but you would have to do the rendering and the sprite. Don't worry, it's in 3D
