Hello all... this thread is for discussing features you would like to see in cube, and in particular those that you find most urgent. If lots of people have the same urgent requests, I may give it priority to be implemented.

Possible, I think there was already a discussion about it, but making this kind of thing would require real time lighting, which, of course - very resource hogging.
My two cents.

#2963: falling damage and jumppads |

Since there's no falling damage,
what is the basic difference (regarding gameplay) of using jumppads wherever you're wanting an elevator just now?

You have to wait for the plaform/elevator to reach your level, and you can exit the plaform it at any level, as opposed to a jumppad being always there and goes to a fixed height.
That said, I agree that jumppads are an adequate short-term solution to elevators.

they sould add a lot more entities you can add to maps,ex. moving fire, push entities, objects that are affected by gravity, basically a lot more of the entities thatare used in Quake.

Team spawn points so you all dont spawn next to each other and end up dieing 1 sec after you spawn. This would also be helpful in a capture the flag map, I know they have capture, but CTf is differnt..

Use a staircase of multiple jumppads. Elevators are bad in mulitplayer gameplay anyways - they slow it down, and the lag means that they're never as responsive as they should be.
If anything, I'd rather see continuous trains (just use an MD2 for the train model).

Plus, it means the server needs to get into the game - instead of just being a traffic server, the server must manage the physics and minimal AI for the monsters. As for traffic, it probably wouldn't be too bad since you'd only send data for the "active" (awake) monsters. Coop-game mappers would just have to be careful not to allow too many "awakened" monsters at a time, and code would be needed to return a monster to "sleep" after a while.

I know a Coop-Mod for Doom 3. If its possible to do that even in Doom 3 it should not be impossible for cube.

Y'know, this is why people say that cube has a hostile community. All three posters before me should consider themselves noobs for being such douches to someone with a reasonable request.
@ atirule: you should read this thread and see what you can figure out.
