Hello all... this thread is for discussing features you would like to see in cube, and in particular those that you find most urgent. If lots of people have the same urgent requests, I may give it priority to be implemented.

Would it be another good idea to have a list of whats planned to be added, what is perposed, and what type of idea is rejected to have in the game Cube so that newbies like me don't have to repeat the idea over and over.

Such a thread would be a good idea. I'm not the one to make it though, as my own knowledge is dreadfully small in regards to the forum.
Mention it to say, pushplay or enigma, people who have been around longer.

You can change the sensitivity in game with /sensitivity ... read the doc. There's a todo list in the source directory too.

He is making Lava to hurt you(if possible to advance the engine set you(and you Foes)on fire)Water has a limit to stay inside it(this ruins some ppl maps)skybox as a floor and you are on it hurts you and a starting weapon a pistol of 9mb.

Skybox that hurts will ruin some of my favorite maps. I would really like lava. And aard has said many times before that drowning isnt for cube, and i agree. (fun > realism) maybe drowning would be cool in a realistic mod.

all you realy need is an "edittag hurt #"
with # specifying what type of hurt it is- some sort of falling-to-doom, drowning, burning or zapping.
also, a sort of mass-teleport tag would be nice, so we don't have to coat the bottom of large pits with visibly ruining models.

The Mass teleport would be a good idea,
also (and I've mentioned this before) but tripline style triggers that trigger over a selected row/set of cubes, good for forcing a trigger without a tiny doorway.
Another idea that has been mentioned (and would be implementable with mass-teleport) would be invisible teleports, you could then use a mapmodel with no bounding box to represent the gateway...

Has anyone ever seen Buzz3d?
1)I think a web-browser type object would rule, you walk up to a wall with a web browser on it, and can surf the web with other ppl. (With an option to lock it on a certain page)
2) a plugin that runs xmms/winamp locally, and streams the music over the server to anybody near the object (Like xmms in the wall)

Ok, a few more outrageous requests-
Animated GIF support (this could have a number of visual possibilities, but it may be murder on the enine :(
Triggers which will reset other triggers (or is there already a way to do this with clever scripting? I'm still a n00b in that regard)
A way to reset the models for monsters/items. There's plenty of material out there, it's just a matter of making it apply nonpermenately.
Instagib SP. Simple enough, I don't think I need to explain my thinking.
More implentation of demo coding, so we can use demos the way UT uses their intro clips to Assault mode. It'd be a great way to make finishing levels more rewarding.
I'll definately second the widespread trigger idea, widespread teleports, and the possibility of making "painful cubes" or "lethal cubes" for lava and skybox contact (something along the lines of edittag?)

Make it so you can switch your characters skin or make your own and add it to the packages folder and other players see the skin you selected.
It may pose some security risk though due to the fact they would have to have the skin file sent to them.
And guns in people's hands as LiX said.

Afaik you arent able to log events on the server.. so that would be a nice feature imo, mostly for stats etc. (mayb like..)
[Team1] Player killed [Blah] Unnamed
.. or even * with Rocket Launcher..
if you get the point.

Insight once made a cube-wrapper that computes stats from the console output, but it's client-side.
searching for cubewrapper on the forum you'll probably find it.
Probably it'd be possible to do the same thing on server side (IIRC server also logs to console)
Anyway that's a nice suggestion for enhancing my Gentoo RC-script for Cube server :)

I've been meaning to ask this for a while, I just keep forgetting... Anyways for Cube and Sauer it would nice that you could set a "deathlevel"
similier to water in cube...
/setdeathlevel -10
...and if you fall below -10 you die. This would be nice for maps with cliffs or wholes.
And maybe have somekind of graphic or grid thats only viewable in edit mode to show where it is.

and you could also mix this with water like so...

and make the water a lava texture and there you go lava that hurts you

I'd appreciate this feature:
http proxy support for server browse and registering
Here at *.cvut.cz we (students) have direct connection to the internet but all http connections must go through proxy. I am able to get server list from master server (and play) by setuping DNAT transparent proxy on my linux box, but i can't register my server, because when the game tries to register, the master server actually registers the proxy server which doesn't respond to the ping for obvious reasons:
sending request to wouter.fov120.com...
masterserver reply:
Server not registered: You did not respond to ping.
